LAF Skyway defeated River Rats 26-7 with a thrilling 11-9 tie-breaker in a #1 Doubles win after River Rats win #2 Doubles in a 11-10 tie-breaker!

#1 Doubles

• Brain Burke/Mat Langhorst (Skyway) def. Donovan Foley/Quinn Foley 8-21, 21-14, 11-9

#1 Singles

• Jim Grota (Skyway) def. Brian Coonce 21-6, 21-6

#2 Doubles

• Bill Hickey/Joe Lacey-Gotz (River Rats) def. Ma Vang/Don Reiter 13-21, 21-11, 11-10

#2 Singles

• John Laliberte (Skyway) def. Curt Schlener 21-4, 21-1

The stage was set as both singles matches we completed before the first games in the doubles matches were complete.  With Skyway winning both singles the River Rats need to win both doubles matches.  Both went to tie-breakers setting up a thrilling finish.  The #2 Doubles finished first with an 11-10 win for the River Rats making the #1 Doubles tie-break a winner takes all game.  It was still at 8-8 when the #2 doubles concluded so the tension was high.  Eventually, Burke and Langhorst were able to pull through with an 11-9 win.  The River Rats were only 2 points away!
